Many people like to experience Mexican culture first hand. There are, of course, an infinite number of ways to accomplish this. We offer a few suggestions and encourage you to add your own:
Sunday Flea Market and Cancun
Designed to take you into the heart of Mexican culture. This weekly flea market covers 36 square blocks of Cancun and offers a wide variety of items for sale. Highly recommended for those who want to see a real Mexican market. This tour also includes an established Mexican market and, if desired a number of other stops at specialty shops to meet individual needs. This tour also includes a stop at Superama.
N$150 pesos per person. Maximum 4. Tour leaves at 7:00am to avoid the heat and the large crowds.
Shopping - Cancun or Playa del Carmen
With populations pushing 1 million each, both Cancun and Playa have a wide range of goods and services that are not available in Puerto Morelos. Shopping for American style groceries, high end tequila and designer items can only be successful in these larger cities.
Playa del Carmen
Stroll the pedestrian-only, cobblestone street and explore the many shops or just sit by the
beach to enjoy the view. Have a delicious dinner at the restaurant of your choice.
There is so much to see in either the city proper or out on the 27 km Hotel Zone. If you are just going for grocery shopping the only store we go to is Superama, owned by Walmart, which carries the most items familiar to an American or Canadian.
Two options available:
One hour grocery shopping. Driver takes you, waits for you and returns:
